Learning to Play Together!

Ty had a soccer game on Saturday. He is the one in the front on the left. Him and another little boy named Hunter are both used to being the stars of their team. There has been a lot of elbowing and pushing trying to get to the ball and they are now having to learn to play on the same team and share the ball with each other and their teammates. Growing up and learning these things is so hard for little 5 year olds!

Whats been Cooking!

I have decided to follow in Kim's footsteps and post what I have been cooking lately. As many of you know, cooking is not high on my "what I love" list. I have never really enjoyed it and so I never have really cooked much. I have been inspired by many of my friends and my sister Amy. Amy loves to cook and always has great ideas and recipes. I sat down yesterday to make my menu for the week and my grocery list. I picked several recipes from the recipe blog so that made things easier. I saw Kim at the grocery and I told her how amazed I was about how empty my basket seemed since I was shopping off of a list. I am very proud of myself for cooking the past two nights in a row. I have challenged myself to start cooking more for me Kris and Ty. It is also so nice to be able to sit down and eat as a family and be able to visit with Ty about his day.

So, with all of that said here is what's cooking this week!

Monday - Rotisserie Chicken, Rice, Spinach Salad, applesauce and watermelon
(This meal was very easy because the chicken was already cooked.)

Tuesday - Fettucine Alfredo, Garlic Bread and applesauce.
( I have been serving applesauce with every meal because it is so easy and Ty and Kris love it. Recipe can be found here.)

Wednesday - Chicken and Dumplings with peas, Salad and Strawberries
(Recipe can be found here.)

Thursday - Homemade Sloppy Joes, Zesty Fries, and applesauce

Friday - Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Fruit Salad
(Recipe can be found here)

Fall Soccer Begins!

Ty started fall soccer last week! This was his first practice and he was so excited. His team are the tigers!

Ty's Five!

Ty celebrated his fifth birthday today! He opened up his presents before school and had his cupcake before he got out of bed. It was a GREAT day!

The "Night Before" Tradition!

I can't believe our "little sweetie" is turning five tomorrow. We have started a tradition that the night before his birthday we make cupcakes together. He gets to have one before bed and then one first thing in the morning before he gets out of bed the day of his b-day. We really had a good time tonight making the cupcakes and Ty made the biggest mess. Oh well, it was all worth it to see that smile on his face! Happy 5th Birthday Ty!

Ty's Birthday Party!

This past Saturday was Ty's birthday party at Pump It Up. He had a BLAST playing with his friends, sliding, climbing and bouncing! I think all of the kids had so much fun and hopefully they all took a good nap when they got home. Ty loved his Tony Hawk decorations especially the ramp on his cake! Thanks to all who came to celebrate his big day. I can't believe our little one is already five. Time really does fly by.

Two Ballerina's

I went today and watched two of my good girlfriends little girls dance class. They are so cute and I loved seeing them in their little outfits. During their one hour lesson they practiced tap and ballet. I was thinking to myself that this is what it would be like to have a girl. Everything pink and frilly! Too CUTE!

Ty and Checkers!

Ty is in love with our neighbors cat Checkers. They love to play with each other and Checkers practically lives at our house. He is a sweet cat and will let Ty rub all over him. One day a couple of weeks ago we left the front door open and Checkers came inside. Ty thought that was the neatest thing and Checkers just acted like he owned the house. This is a picture of them one morning before we left for school.

Big Day!

Ty had a very big day today! We (Ty and Mommy) went to see Ratatouille again at the theater. He loves the movie and talked me into going again. Kris woke up very early this morning to go fishing so it was just the two of us. After the movie we came home and played a little bit with Kris who was home from fishing. We played Monopoly Jr. which Ty loves. After playing the game Ty and Kris went to the Kendall County Fair in Boerne. Ty rode the cars, slide, ferris wheel, carousel, and more. They had so much fun together. For dinner they ate corn dogs which is one of Ty's favorites. Before bath and bed time Ty and Kris played soccer for about an hour. Ty loves heading it and trying to see how far he can kick it. I think Kris has as much fun as Ty does. It was a great day and Ty had a blast. He went to bed tonight and I think he was asleep in less than 5 minutes. He was so tired from his fun day!

Honey and Granddad

This is a cute picture of Honey and Granddad!

Ty, Kris and I decided to come to Boerne for the long weekend! We love it here and so does Ty. It is so nice that he can just go outside and ride his four wheeler, ride the horses, play in the barn and so many other things. Today we had Rudy's for dinner. Ty was eating the yummy corn they have and he said, "this corn is 100 percent delicious!" He says the most hilarious things at the most random times. I really need to start writing everything he says down. Kris is going to go fishing while we are here. I am planning on reading a new book I just bought and relaxing. My mom, Amy and I went shopping today and had fun girl time!
