Happy Thanksgiving...

We are off to Boerne in the morning. The boy's and I can't wait for a lot of rest and relaxation. That seems to never be hard to accomplish at my parents. We have so much to be thankful for. I am really going to try to focus on that for the rest of the week! I hope you and yours have a fabulous holiday!

So Good...

I went with a friend tonight to see New Moon! It was so good and now the wait is on for Eclipse to come out! I highly recommend seeing it if you are into them!!!

Just a Little Something

This morning at church, Kevin talked about Discouragement in his series on demolishing strongholds. He had a lot of really good things to say as usual but I really liked it when he said, "The time we feel like doing something the least is when we need to keep doing it the most."

When you are BORED...

I guess you organize your Lego's. Ty is for sure my son. He has been home all week with the flu and is going a bit stir crazy! He asked this morning if I could help him sort and organize his Lego's. Of course I said Absolutely. We had fun seeing who could empty their bigger container into the smaller bins that are now sorted by color. He said that with them being sorted by color it will be much easier for him to build and make things. I am so glad that he is pretty easy to entertain. Except for Tuesday when he about drove me crazy! HA!!!

Let's Talk Laundry...

It's no surprise that I can't stand doing laundry. I have voiced my dismay for a long time, especially to my family and to poor Kris. I try to take cue's from my sister-n-law, Sharon, who loves doing laundry and finds it quite therapeutic. I have been doing quite a bit of laundry the last two days since Ty has had the flu. I thought I would post a few of my favorite things that make doing my laundry a little bit easier.

I use Tide he powder in my front loader. The liquid is known to cause a mildew smell in front loaders.

Downy is my favorite softener. It makes our clothes smell so good and it also make them so soft. The Lavender/Vanilla is my favorite scent. I also use the Downy ball instead of pouring the softener into my machine. With the ball, you pour the softener in it and then place the ball into the barrel of your machine. It automatically releases the liquid when you have started the cycle.

I also love using a pretty container to keep my powder in. It makes me feel a little bit better about doing my laundry! This one is from Pottery Barn outlet but I have seen some very similar to this one at Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Wal-Mart and TJ-Maxx.

I hope this inspires you to enjoy doing your laundry.

Oh my Word! LOL!!!

Who knew there was an aerobics competition for men?! I needed this laugh tonight!!!

Here Pigie, Pigie, Pigie...

It has invaded our house and hopefully no one else will get H1N1 except Ty. He is really being very tough. We are doing a lot of this...

this...

and this...

Evidently the H1N1 is rampant and it is spreading fast. We are trying not to worry to much about it and really staying on top of cleaning, washing hands, etc.

Showering Jessica

Yesterday was our baby shower for Jessica! It turned out great and was so much fun being able to give her gift cards that she can use for the new baby! And, the cupcakes that Ruth Ann made homemade were delicious along with all of the salads! Congratulations Jessica, we can't wait to meet your new little one!!!

Slithering Snake

Ty was a snake last night in his 1st grade music program, Frog and Toad. He was so cute and he did a great job!!! Let me just say that making a snake costume is not as easy as it sounds. At least not to me anyway! HA!!!

Beautiful Bookcase

When I look at this bookshelf it reminds me of my sister, Amy! She is an avid reader and I could see her having a library like this one. I love the color of the books and the ladder! Gorgeous!!!

Why I Love Mom

WHY I LOVE MOM

Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, 'I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed'.

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugarcontainer, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning. She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer , ironed a shirt and secured a loose button. She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer. She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry.

She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk, wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair

She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.

Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturiz er, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.

Dad called out, 'I thought you were going to bed.'

'I'm on my way,' she said

She put some water into the dog's dish then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.

She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's , hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. In her own room, she set the alarm ; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. 'I'm going to bed'

And he did. without another thought.

Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?

Cause we are made for the long haul....(and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)

~I received this from my mom today via e-mail. I am not sure of it's source.~

Oh My Goodness...

Oh Maddy, you are so sweet!!!
